about
Four years ago, a friend posted this artwork of “Mary & Eve” by Sr. Grace Remington. The tender and powerful image of this moment between these two women gripped my heart and I could not sleep until this song had flowed out. It was one of those rare times when the words came almost quicker than I could write them down.
I knew that I wanted to record this in a way that captured that very intimate, face to face, hand on Eve’s cheek moment, almost like a whispered assurance of grace and healing.
A beginner at guitar, I sheepishly, and quite literally, “thumbed” my way through it to show my friend and producer, Robin Ghosh. My plan was for him to actually play the guitar, but he insisted that my tender way of playing was how it needed to be heard. So..here it is, my guitar debut. Rob added just the right instrumental touches and I am ready to offer it up. May it bring you hope, joy, and a fresh perspective this Christmas like it did for me.
lyrics
Eve - It’s gonna be all right
Don’t hang your head and cry tonight
Eve - You made a big mistake
Thought you had sealed our fate - but not quite
Cause Eve, I know a secret
And soon the world will see
That God has made a way for you and me
The babe that grows within me
A King above all kings
Will be born to die then rise in victory
Oh Eve
Eve, heed not a word he said
The liar within your head - has lost
Eve, you just have to turn away
Eve you don’t have to pay - the cost
Eve, I know a secret
And soon the world will see
That God has made a way for you and me
The babe that grows within me
A King above all kings
Will be born to die then rise in victory
And light the way for all who will believe
Oh open up your heart and you will see
It’s Christmas, Eve
And come morning light
it’s gonna be all right
So be still tonight
It’s gonna be all right
It’s gonna be all right
It’s gonna be all right
