about

On this track we are backed up by our good friends, and one of our favorite new bands, The Farewell Drifters. It's a great old hymn by Fanny Crosby that we started messing with last year. Once it became a solid bluegrass arrangement we knew The Drifters were the right fit. Zach Bevil, their lead vocalist, joined us to lead worship at our church here in Nashville and when he added that high harmony we melted. The whole band, Clayton (guitar,) Joshua (mandolin,) Christian (violin,) and Dean (bass) are just impeccable on this track. Michelle channelled her inner Dolly, and we were off to the races.

lyrics

Pass me not, O gentle Savior,
Hear my humble cry;
While on others Thou art calling,
Do not pass me by.

Refrain:
Savior, Savior,
Hear my humble cry,
While on others Thou are calling,
Do not pass me by.

Let me at a throne of mercy
Find a sweet relief;
Kneeling there in deep contrition,
Help my unbelief.

Trusting only in Thy merit,
Would I seek Thy face;
Heal my wounded, broken spirit,
Save me by Thy grace.

Thou the spring of all my comfort,
More than life to me,
Whom have I on earth beside Thee,
Whom in Heav’n but Thee.
