You will never see this version of the song anywhere else. Also included in the box will be a stack of 12 photo cards (photos by Allen Clark) with essays about the songs, our history with them, and why we chose to record them on the back and a nifty, numbered, box.
(Please click on the "Special Edition" link to the right to order.)

about
One of our favorite hymns, we had a blast with this one. Having such amazing musicians to experiment with was a real blessing.
lyrics
O sacred Head, now wounded,
with grief and shame weighed down,
now scornfully surrounded
with thorns, thine only crown:
how pale thou art with anguish,
with sore abuse and scorn!
How does that visage languish
which once was bright as morn!
What thou, my Lord, has suffered
was all for sinners' gain;
mine, mine was the transgression,
but thine the deadly pain.
Lo, here I fall, my Savior!
'Tis I deserve thy place;
look on me with thy favor,
vouchsafe to me thy grace.
What language shall I borrow
to thank thee, dearest friend,
for this thy dying sorrow,
thy pity without end?
O make me thine forever;
and should I fainting be,
Lord, let me never, never
outlive my love for thee.

The Wayside is John and Michelle Thompson and the various friends and collaborators who have come alongside them over the past 32 years of rootsy music making. Originally from the Chicago area, they now call East Nashville home and they love it.
The slashing roots rock on “Out On the Line” always makes its way to the kind of triumphant chorus that quickens the pulse. Bandcamp New & Notable Apr 2, 2023
